At the same time the Catacombs were created , something that witnesses the spread of the Christian’s teach on the island. In the area of the ancient city are situated the Catacombs of Milos.

Christian community cemetery aged by the end of 2nd century A.C. and remaining up to the end of 5th century A.C. It concerns a complex comprised of tree catacombs i.d. of large low corridors, with continuous to each corridor others smaller and one mortal .

On the sides of the corridors narrow tombs are built (or arkosolia) some of them belonging to families. Also Graveyards are located under the floor of the corridors.

The tombs are decorated with plant jewels and symbolic shows. The existence of Catacombs in Milos proves the spread of Christianity throughout the island very early and that the island was the bridge its development from Asia by the Jewish merchants.

The Catacombs were discovered long time ago and the locals had given them the name GREEK CAVE. The archaeological area is visited today by one part.
