The island of Aphrodite is the fifth in size of the island complex of the Cyclades with a total area of 151 square kilometers , situated at the south west part of it . It lies at a distance of 86 nautical miles from Pireaus and 105 from Crete. The most characteristic of Milos is its natural port , considered one of the biggest and safest of the Mediterranean .

The population of Milos , approximately 4.500 inhabitants live in the north east part of the island and particular in 8 villages

There are many seaside settlements with many tourists during the summer months.
