ΑFRODITE OF MILOS In spring time, on 8th April 1820 in the area of the ancient city a farmer , called George Kentrotas while digging in his field discovers an opening of stones. CΑΤΑCOMBS At the same time the Catacombs were created , something that witnesses the spread of the Christian’s teach on the island. ΑNCIENT TOWN After the destroy of Fylakopis the new city was built by Dories approximately in 1100B.C. ΑNCIENT THEATER The manufacture of the theater probably took place in the Hellenistic age, today though is clear OPSIDIANOS From the Neolithic ages , the merchandise of Milos developed a great deal through the exportation in the great ΑNCIENT TOWN OF FYLAKOPIS In the northern part of the island next to Pollonia, are the ancient town of Fylakopis. ΑRCHAELOGICAL MUSEUM The Archaeological museum is in Plaka on the direction of Tripiti FOLK ART MUSEUM In the narrow roads of Plaka and on the way to Marmara opposite to the church Korfiatissa STONE MUSEUM It is situated in Adamantas and presents all kinds of stones from the rich land of Milos and collections that are related to the life on the island |
